Criminal Court fined a man MVR 21,600 for possession of alcohol.
According to the verdict hearing on October 21, Police arrested two men, Ismail Nihan and Ali Mauloon, in capital city Male' at approximately 2120 hrs on August 15, 2018, over suspicious behaviour.
The two men were convicted based on their confessions. However, the court did not impose the sentence on Mauloon as requested by the Prosecutor General's Office due to Mauloon undergoing rehabilitation at the National Drug Authority (NDA).
Moreover, Nihan was ordered to pay the sum within a month.
