Judicial Service Commission (JSC), on Wednesday, decided to transfer Family Court's Chief Judge Hassan Saeed to the Criminal Court as a disciplinary measure.

The judiciary watchdog suspended the long-serving Family Court judge in June, in relation to an ongoing investigation.

Although JSC finalised the decision to provide Judge Hassan counsel and transfer him to a different court, the internal investigative committee formed to probe the case initially called for the submission of a parliamentary motion to dismiss him.

JSC disclosed that it decided to maintain the committee's conclusion that Judge Hassan's case involved factors that could impact his discipline. The judge was given a chance to officially reply to the committee's decision.

The commission had previously imposed a suspension on Judge Hassan concerning an investigation as well. However, he was allowed to return to his duties after the suspension was annulled.
