The Maldives government appointed a new deputy for the Ministry of Environment and Energy on Sunday.
The President’s Office announced that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s chosen deputy for the enviroment ministry is Nizah Mohamed Rafeeu of Fuvahmulah island.
Nizah was appointed to office, joining his associate Ali Amir, following the resignation of former deputy environment minister Abdulla Mohamed.
Abdulla Mohamed had previously reigned as the CEO of National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) for six months, before which he was the deputy president of Fuvahmulah Atoll Council. He had worked in the ministry for a period of two years.
