Maldives Police Service disclosed that an accident took place in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' on Wednesday.
Two individuals were injured in the crash that took place on Fithuroanu Magu at approximately 1043 hrs, while the two motorcycles involved in the accident sustained damages as well.
Both of the injured drivers were taken to Hulhumale' Hospital for treatment.
However, Police did not disclose any details about the severity of their injuries.
According to authorities, the accident occurred near Maldives Ports Ltd (MPL) when a speeding motorcycle crashed into another motorcycle that was on the side of the road while trying to overtake a pickup truck.
Moreover, Police further clarified that both drivers possessed driving licenses.
The accident is currently under investigation.
