Tipped off: Police uncover narcotics in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale

Maldives Police Service, on Tuesday, uncovered narcotic substances at a vacant apartment complex in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale'.

After Security forces were tipped off over the presence of illegal compounds, authorities from Hulhumale' Police Station and the Special Operations (SO) Unit. led a joint operation.

The investigation led to a discovery of a total of 11 small packets (locally referred to as bullets), seven ketchup bottles and four plastic bags were found to contain the alleged substances.

The operation took place at approximately 0130 hrs. According to Police, apartment was located on the third storey of the building.

Authorities are yet to make any arrests over the matter.
