Indian Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Bipin Rawat, on Tuesday, called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.
During the meeting held at the ministry, General Rawat discussed the importance of taking into account the evolving nature of threats in and the "multi-faceted nature of the Maldives-India relationship".
He further highlighted the contributions made by the Indian Armed Forced to train and strengthen the capacity of Maldivian security forces.
The Indian Army Chief arrived in Maldives on Sunday for a five-day official trip. MNDF previously disclosed that he would pay a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and meet with ministers as well as top military officials during the visit.
