Maldives Police Service on Saturday disposed of large quantities of alcohol confiscated over 240 cases between 2008- 2014.
The intoxicants were disposed at prison island, Dhoonidhoo, Kaafu Atoll.
Police revealed that the disposed contents include more than 500 branded bottles, 151 plastic bottles, 208 beer cans, five kegs, six 5-litre bottles, five canisters and 86 other alcoholic products.
Prior to this, law enforcement had recently disposed large quantities of confiscated alcohol.
