JSC to investigate disciplinary cases against four judges

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC), on Wednesday, decided to launch investigations into disciplinary cases concerning four judges.

The judicial watchdog is set to probe Criminal Court Judge Hassan Najeeb and Chief Magistrate Ahmed Shareef of Dhanbidhoo Court, Laamu Atoll as well as Civil Court Judges Hassan Faheem Ibrahim and Hussain Faiz Rashad.

The decision was finalised during Wednesday's meeting which was attended by six members including JSC President Abdulla Areef and Vice President Masthoor Husny. The remaining participants were Abdul Maaniu Hussain, MP Hisaan Hussain, Dr Ali Shameem and Abdul Rauf Ibrahim.

JSC is currently investigating cases against several judges including Family Court Chief Judge Hassan Saeed, High Court Chief Judge Shujau Usman, High Court Judge Hassan Ali and certain other magistrates.
