Addu City Council, on Monday, revealed that a Kuwaiti company expressed interest in investing in the city's education sector.

Kuwait's Al-Jeri Holding Group conducted meetings with the council to discuss investment opportunities during the previous week.

According to Addu City Mayor Abdulla Sodiq, the investor was keen to pursue the establishment of a university or college in the city.

Adding that Al-Jeri Holding Group was prepared to pursue the initiative as swiftly as possible, the mayor expressed the council's desire to collaboratively conduct projects with interested investors.

Sodiq also described a foreign investment in the education sector as a considerable advancement for Addu and an opportunity to nurture educated young people.

Al-Jeri Holding Group is a leading education corporation that manages 20 schools in Kuwait.

Furthermore, the Addu City Council recently opened the opportunity for institutions interested in providing higher education in Addu to apply for land plots.
