Global travel site, Big 7 Travel, ranked Maldives sixth in its 'Top 50 Bucket List Destinations In The World 2019'.
In a press release, Big 7 Travel revealed the Top 50 "bucket list' destinations, with Bali and Indonesia taking the title.
Meanwhile, New Orleans, United States and Ireland's Ring of Kerry, came in second and third respectively.
The travel site stated that winners were chosen via a representative sample through its social media audience.

"Unsurprisingly, countries with naturally beautiful scenery or world-famous landmarks came out on top. From the list, 22 percent of the top bucket list destinations have white sandy beaches, while 52 percent are an iconic city.", explained the renowned travel site.
Big 7 Media, the parent company of Big 7 Travel, highlighted the increasing role of Instagram in planning holidays, noting that 67 percent of people surveyed have visited a new destination after seeing it on the popular social media platform. Also, 61 percent said they have booked a specific hotel after seeing it on their Instagram feed.
The travel site also noted that 33 percent of the people surveyed, research their upcoming holiday destination on Instagram, with Bucket List experiences and luxury hotels ranking as the most popular content on social media.
Previously, Maldives was ranked sixth in the 'World's Most Instagrammable Countries 2019' by the company.
