President Solih arrives in Singapore for state visit

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Sunday, arrived in Singapore, for a state visit.

President Solih, First Lady Fazna Ahmed and the delegation of officials accompanying them were received at the VIP Complex of Changi Airport by Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Defense Maliki Osman.

During the visit, President Solih is scheduled to meet Singaporean President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to deliberate on methods to further strengthen and diversify bilateral ties between the two countries.

Additionally, the president will meet members of the Maldivian community in Singapore to assess their concerns and enquire ways for the government to provide assistance.

As part of the trip, President Solih will visit Pulau Semakau, an offshore landfill managed by Singapore’s National Environment Agency as well as the ISD Counter-Terrorism centre to learn from Singapore’s expertise in waste management and security.
