Thulhaadhoo MP Hisaan Hussain appointed as JSC member

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Monday, appointed Hisaan Hussain to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

The appointment was made under article 158 (e) of the constitution which states “the Judicial Service Commission shall consist of a member of the People’s Majlis appointed by them”; and article 3 (5) of the Judicial Service Commission Act (Act number 10/2008) which states “the Judicial Service Commission shall consist of a member of the People’s Majlis, elected by the People’s Majlis”.

President Solih presented the letter of appointment to Hisaan at a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Monday morning.

Prior to the presentation of the letter of appointment, Hisaan took the oath of membership of JSC, which was administered by Judge Abdulla Areef of the Supreme Court.
