State Trading Organisation (STO)'s head of Information Technology, Musthafa Azmee, succumbed to his injuries late Friday.
Azmee, aged 41, sustained serious injuries to the head and lungs after falling from the second floor of Mohamed Jameel Mosque on April 20. His brain function was impaired, and he broke three ribs which punctured his lungs, causing difficulties in regulating his blood pressure .
After undergoing treatment at ADK Hospital, he was flown to Bangalore, India However, he was brought back to Maldives on Friday night as there were no further treatments available.
"He passed away after he was brought down from the air ambulance", said a close relative of Azmee.
His funeral services took place after the noon prayer on Saturday.
Azmee had served at STO for 25 years. He is survived by his wife and infant child.
