State Trading Organisation (STO)'s head of Information Technology Musthafa Azmee on late Wednesday was transported to Bangalore, India, to receive medical treatment.
Azmee, aged 41, sustained serious injuries to the head and lungs after falling from the second floor of Mohamed Jameel Mosque on April 20.
A member of his family told local media Mihaaru that Azmee's condition is critical to an extent beyond healthcare facilities' capacity in Maldives.
Prior to the transfer, he was undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at ADK Hospital.
According to local media Mihaaru, his brain function is impaired, and he broke three ribs which punctured his lungs - causing difficulties in regulating his blood pressure - as a result of the fall. He was placed under mechanical ventilation.
Azmee served at STO as IT head for 25 years.
