Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid returned on Friday after completing a three-day official visit to Berlin, Germany.
He also participated in the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2019 (BETD) and was a panellist at the discussion held on 'Geopolitics in the age of renewable energy'.
During the visit, Minster Shahid also deliberated with Germany’s Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas regarding ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Additionally, the minister held meetings with several high ranking officials such as Germany's Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter and the Bundestag's Chair of the South Asian Parliamentary Group Tobias Pluger.
He also met former President of Ireland and current Chair of The Elders, Mary Robinson and Omani Foreign Minister Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdulla
