The police station in Vilingili, Gaafu Alif atoll caught fire, resulting in smoke inhalation injuries to three officers.
According to the station, the incident occurred after the electrical box installed inside the building caught fire. The flames were swiftly controlled and extinguished before they could spread. However, three policemen present at the time were injured.
The officers are currently undergoing treatment for smoke inhalation at Ghaafu Alif Atoll regional hospital.
In response to an increased frequency of fires, the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) recently advised citizens to exercise caution.
