The city council had decided on conducting this survey last month.
They said that the survey had been contracted to IUM for MVR 625,700, with an agreement to complete it within 120 days.
The government has also recently announced that assistance will be sought from Dubai to mitigate traffic congestion. They further announced a major plan to implement a number of measures to solve traffic issues.
There has been 69,780 new vehicle registrations in Maldives over the past five years. Out of these, 42,000 were registered to the Male' area, the Transport Ministry has revealed.
