The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday, confirmed that Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla would officially visit Maldives from November 8 to 10.
During the visit, the foreign secretaries of Maldives and India will hold discussions to review the progress of projects initiated under Indian financial assistance, as well as the outcomes of the sixth Joint Commission Meeting which was held in Delhi during December 2019.
Foreign Secretary Shringla is also scheduled to meet with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Shahid, Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer, Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail, Minister of Tourism Dr Abdulla Mausoom and Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi as well as Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam.
The upcoming trip is a response to an invitation from Maldivian Foreign Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed and will be Secretary Shringla's first visit to Maldives since assuming office on January 29.
Harsha Vardhan Shringla is the 33rd Foreign Secretary of India.
