Nautilus Foundation's scholarship is extended to four different areas.
The Nautilus Foundation today announced four fully funded scholarships aimed at nurturing talent in key sectors essential to the nation's development.
In a press brief issued by the foundation, it was detailed that the fields from which the scholarships are offers are "each vital to the Maldives' continued development and sustainability," and that these programs are designed to foster expertise in these critical areas, ensuring that future professionals are equipped to lead and innovate.
The four areas are:
- Medicine
Nautilus said that the Medical Specialisation Scholarship aims to address the urgent need for advanced healthcare services by providing opportunities for medical professionals to pursue specialised training.
- Aircraft Engineering
Nautilus said the Aircraft Maintenance Licence Programme – EASA Part 66 scholarship offers comprehensive training to certify students as aircraft maintenance engineers, maintaining the highest safety and operational standards in this vital industry.
- Journalism
The foundation believes that The Mass Communications Undergraduate Degree Scholarship would empower future journalists and media professionals, strengthening the foundation of a transparent and informed Maldivian society.
- Commercial Cookery
According to Nautilus, the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery scholarship is tailored for aspiring culinary professionals eager to elevate the Maldivian hospitality industry, enhancing both local and international culinary standards.
- The applicant must be a Maldivian citizen.
- The study programme must be offered by a university in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, the Philippines, Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka.
- The applicant must successfully pass the selection interview.
- The study programme should not be ongoing or have commenced at the time of the scholarship application.
- The applicant should not be on paid leave or receiving any other scholarship.
- The applicant must not have previously received a scholarship from The Nautilus Foundation.
- The applicant must have obtained a letter confirming university placement and be able to meet the admission requirements of the institution where the scholarship will be undertaken.
- A minimum score of 7 on the IELTS exam is required.
