Club Wamco successfully defended their national volleyball title, winning over Police Club with a 3-1 victory in the final match.
Played at the youth center's inner court, the sets concluded with scores of 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, and 25-23.
Aishath Majida from Wamco received the accolade for the best player in the women's division of the national championship. Wamco also secured the Association Cup before the tournament, and Majida was honored as the player of the tournament.
Despite a previous loss to Police Club in the 2019 final, Wamco won their first national title in January 2022, defeating Club Volleyball 3-1 in the final.
Wamco dominated the first two sets of the final. However, in the third set, the Police took a big lead and did not give Wamco much chance to win the set.
In the fourth set of the match, Wamco took the lead again, but the police improved their game and narrowed the gap. However, Wamco took advantage of the police's inability to receive most of the deliveries sent by them to defend the title by winning the third set.
The dream team for the tournament includes Fathimath Juzan Zareer of Wamco, Maya Hussain Solah, Aminath Areesha, Aminath Riyasa, Fathimath Samha, Maiha Ali of Volleyball Youth New Generation and Hawwa Rashida of Police Club. Shuaib Ahmed of Wamco was adjudged the best coach.
Police Club's Alya Ahmed was judged the most promising player, while Kyisha Racole Hunt of Wamco, who was also the player of the final match, was honored as the best foreign player.
