Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) has begun to clear up the rubble of Maafannu Senrose (west-block) that burned down during Thursday early morning's deadly fire.

Workers dispatched from the ministry has begun to demolish parts of the structure that did not break away in the fire. The workers have cordoned the area off from public entrance while clearing out the debris.

Meanwhile, the ministry has confirmed of this through their official Twitter handle.

Members of the ministry's Public Works Department (PWD) are clearing the area from debris, iron and other articles of construction. They have also begun to clear the road from the vehicles that got damaged in the fire.

Pictures shared by the ministry confirm PWD cleared multiple vehicles from the area, including a vehicle taken out of the garage which is housed at Maafannu Senrose.

Thursday's incident is reported as the most deadly fire in Male' City till date with 10 confirmed deaths, and significant property damage. Authorities confirmed the demised include seven Indians and two Bangladeshis while one has not been identified so far.

One victim who had survived the fire is being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), who reportedly received third or fourth degree burns, making it difficult to identify them as of now.
