President Mohamed Ibrahim Solih has appointed four new members of the National Pay Commission, after dismissing previous sitting members.
1. Mariyam Niyaf Mohamed.
2. Afaf Ibrahim Ali Didi.
3. Abdulla Ali.
4. Fathimath Shaana Farooq.
Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer is the current chairperson of the National Pay Commission, while Mariyam Niyaf was appointed Vice-President.
The members of the commission are appointed to serve for a term of five years.
In accordance with Act No.11/2016 (National Pay Policy Act), the National Pay Commission shall determine the salary and benefits of public servants, bonuses to generate productivity and benefits given in resignation from or termination of employment or tenure of membership.
