The national airline said in a post on X today that it is closely monitoring the situation in Bangladesh. The country's airport has been closed for six hours due to political unrest.
Due to the emerging situation in Bangladesh, we are not able to operate and have cancelled our flights to and from Dhaka on 6th August 2024. We are closely monitoring the situation and are committed to providing support to our passengers during this time.

Maldivian Airlines emphasized that the safety and security of its crew and passengers have always been its top priority.
