Maldivian Airlines has suspended flights to Dhaka, Bangladesh, due to the ongoing civil unrest in the country.

The national airline said in a post on X today that it is closely monitoring the situation in Bangladesh. The country's airport has been closed for six hours due to political unrest.

Maldivian Airlines emphasized that the safety and security of its crew and passengers have always been its top priority.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been forced to leave the country after protests by university students began last month. Amid the turmoil, Hasina resigned, and the Bangladeshi military has decided to form an interim government.
