President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has accepted the invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend his oath-taking ceremony for his third consecutive term in office.

Mihaaru News reports that President Muizzu will leave for New Delhi, India's capital, on Saturday to attend PM Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony. He will be accompanied by several other senior government officials.

This marks President Muizzu's first official visit to India since assuming office on November 17 last year.

Modi will likely take oath as Prime Minister on Sunday, June 9.

The swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi is expected to witness the presence of leaders from neighboring countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, and Seychelles, in addition to the Maldives.
