With these new changes, the Ministry of Finance is now the Ministry of Finance and Planning. This Ministry will be led by current Minister of Finance Moosa Zameer.
The housing ministry and construction ministry have been merged, forming the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, which is to be led by Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib.
Dr Ali Haidar, who till now served as Housing Minister, has had his portfolio changed, now filling the post of Minister of Higher Education, Skill Development and Labour.
Former Higher Education Minister Dr Maryam Mariya, who has been temporarily overseeing the Agriculture Ministry following Dr Rameela's resignation, is now appointed as Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare.
This is the second time that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has brought changes to his cabinet during this term.
