Queens beat Cyclones 95-27 on the indoor court of the Social Centre. The best player of the match was Aminath Israu, who scored 27 points for Queens.
The last champion Cyclones started the tournament on an easy note.
In the second match of the day, Elite and Lioness faced each other. Elite won the match by 90-33 points. Rai Hamza, who scored 24 points, was the top scorer for Elite in the match.
In the men's section, Redwings BC lost their opening match against the Raptors BC. However, they were relieved to win the second game.
