MP Rasheed said that the thief took fiber optic cables and other equipment, leaving many places in disarray, presumably searching for money.
Ocean TV, led by former President Mohamed Nasheed, was robbed on Friday.
Former Central Maafannu Constituency Member Ibrahim Rasheed (Bondey), who is in charge of administration at the channel, said that a thief broke into Ocean TV around 06:00 hrs yesterday, gaining entry through the ground floor door after damaging the lock.
Videos circulating on social media clearly show the face of the intruder.
According to MP Rasheed, no one was present inside when the break-in occurred.
The thief took fiber optic cables and other equipment, leaving many places in disarray, presumably searching for money, he said.
Ocean TV operates from the residence of one of Nasheed's family members.
