Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has drafted senior officials of the company in order to swiftly clear freight from the Malé Commercial Harbour and identify challenges faced in freight transport operations.
Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has deployed senior officials to expedite the clearance of freight from the Malé Commercial Harbour and to identify challenges in freight transport operations.
This activity involved MPL CEO Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim along with 20 heads of departments from the company.
Wajeeh said that the most important task of the company is to ensure that cargo shipped to the harbor is successfully delivered to its owners. He said that the purpose of having all company staff experience the workload of freight transportation is to identify barriers and challenges, expedite the work, and plan operations according to the most efficient procedures while addressing the identified difficulties.
"This work is typically undertaken by labor staff. All employees, from the CEO to junior staff experiencing the process of this work is the management's job." said Wajeeh.
Wajeeh assured that all company staff, in different groups, will be undertaking this work periodically.
He revealed that the company sometimes faces situations where the number of staff involved in cargo operations declines due to a various reasons. He assured that work will be expedited in the future by deploying staff from other departments to undertake the work in such situations as well.
"I am certain that through this operation, there will no longer be a lack of employees cargo operation works," l Wajeeh said.
He said that all staff employed at the company will experience the process of cargo operations firsthand starting next week, elaborating that the work will take two weeks.
