The Ministry of Finance, on Sunday, is seeking a contractor to develop 100 housing units in the island of Kolhufushi, Meemu Atoll.
As per the announcement, the contracted company must formulate the design of the units as well as manage construction work under a design-build policy.
Only companies registered at the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure according to the regulation for contractors tasked with conducting construction work.
The bidding process will be conducted on July 30. Interested companies must register their names prior to July 29 by submitting a registration fee of MVR 1,500 and placing a deposit of USD 100,000 (MVR 1,545,000).
The finance ministry previously made similar announcements under the design-build policy to seek out contractors to manage the construction of 200 housing units in Gan, Laamu Atoll and 100 housing units in Thulhaadhoo, Baa Atoll.
The 2019 State Budget allocated MVR 6.6 billion for Public Sector Investment Programmes (PSIP) which includes 229 ongoing projects and 315 new initiatives.
