The filing of charges against the individuals accused of Naeema Moosa's murder, a gruesome incident that occurred in Noonu Manadhoo on April 7, has faced delays as further reports are being compiled.

Three local youths, Ahzam Abdul Shakoor (23), Abdul Wahid Rifas (20), and Hasan Fawaz (21), have been arrested in connection with the case. However, over six months since Naeema's tragic death, the accused have not yet been referred to the Prosecutor General's Office for prosecution.

When questioned by Mihaaru about the reasons for the delay in filing the charge sheet, a police media official explained, "We are currently in the process of preparing additional reports concerning Naeema's death."

"Once these reports are finalized, we will proceed with requesting charges to be filed in the case," he assured.

Meanwhile, all individuals accused in Naeema's murder remain under remand pending the trial. Previously, the police has reported significant progress in their investigation into Naeema's death, during which two knives believed to have been used in the murder and clothing believed to have been worn by the suspects at the time of the crime were discovered buried in the island's beach area.

It is believed that Naeema was tragically murdered while she was asleep in her own home. Her lifeless body, bearing multiple knife wounds, was discovered two days later when a group of people, accompanied by the police, forced entry into her bedroom due to the absence of any news or communication.
