Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has launched their AFC A License Coaching Course which is also training football coaches from Bangladesh, Nepal and Gambia.

The course begun on Tuesday saw the participation of 24 coaches, of which 6 are foreigners. This includes 3 coaches from Bangladesh, 2 coaches from Nepal and one coach from Gambia. The competition further saw the participation of three women as well.

The lecturer set to teach the course is the Technical Director of FAM, Paul Thomas Smalley.

While this is the third A License coaching program proceeded in Maldives, the most recent course was held in the year 2016.

FAM had trained a large number of coaches to B Coaching levels before advancing them to the A Coaching course.

Taught by the experienced Coach, Mohamed Shazly, and former Technical Director of FAM, Ahmed Shareef, this B License Coaching course had further refined the craft of multiple famous coaches.

The sole coach who was not present at the course begun yesterday after multiple delays from the initial period of late 2023 was the renowned Coach of Club Valencia, Ismail Asif (Kuda Heena).
