Mohamed Yaameen (Yaanbe) achieved an impressive feat by winning the Mr Maldives title for the third consecutive year. This victory marks his fourth time securing the title, as he had also emerged as the champion in 2017 prior to his hat-trick of wins.
Yaanbe's consistent success places him among the elite group of bodybuilders who have won the Mr Maldives title multiple times. Previously, Adil and Mohamed Rasheed (Rachey) had each won the title three times.
In the Sports Physique category, Azneen Rashad displayed remarkable prowess by clinching the championship title, a feat he had accomplished for the past two years as well. Azneen's dominance in this category has solidified his position as the most successful athlete, having won the title four times. He also emerged victorious in both the World Championship and Asian Championship, making him the first athlete from the Maldives to secure a gold medal in these esteemed tournaments.
While Yaanbe fell short of reaching the final round in the Asian Bodybuilding Championship, he compensated for it by securing a Bronze medal in the Bodybuilding super 90 kg challenge at the World Championship. Despite this setback, Yaanbe's performance highlights his talent and dedication in the field of bodybuilding.
Looking ahead, the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship is set to commence on Friday, offering Yaanbe and Azneen another opportunity to showcase their skills on a regional level.
