Ministry of Finance, on Monday, announced its decision to dissolve 19 state-owned enterprises.

According to the 'Companies in Liquidation' circular, various healthcare companies are slated for liquidation.

The companies are facing liquidation as operating costs continue in the negatives. However, a majority of these state-run companies are entirely defunct.

Companies facing dissolution

1. Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation Limited

2. Central Health Services Corporation Limited

3. Male' Health Services Corporation Limited

4. North Central Health Corporation Limited

5. Northern Health Services Corporation Limited

6. South Central Health Services Corporation Limited

7. Southern Health Services Corporation Limited

8. Upper North Health Services Corporation Limited

9. Upper South Health Services Corporation Limited

10. Felivaru Fisheries Maldives Limited

11. Koodoo Fisheries Maldives Limited

12. Kulhudhufushi Port Limited

13. Hithadhoo Port Limited

14. Madivaru Holdings Private Limited

15. Gan Airport Company Limited

16. Works Corporation Limited

17. Maldives Road Development Corporation Limited

18. Hazana Maldives Limited

19. National Investment Management Company Limited

Currently, there are 31 functional state-owned enterprises in the country.
