President flies to Dubai to attend funeral of younger brother

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih flies to Dubai to attend the funeral of younger brother who passed away on early Monday morning.

Ahmed Mohamed Solih, passed away in Dubai while he was getting treatment for cancer in Dubai. He was 54 years old.

With the President, several of their family members have also flown to Dubai. Spokesperson to the President's Office, Mabrook Azeez said the President will return on Wednesday.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's family is made up of 12 siblings in total, out of which eight are younger than him. Four of his younger brothers are blind, including Ahmed that had passed away.

While Ahmed had not memorized the Quran due to health reasons, he had participated in the course and had attempted to become a hafiz. The three other visually impaired siblings had completed the course.

Ahmed started getting treatment for cancer about three months ago. After learning Ahmed had cancer, he had received treatment from Sri Lanka as well, prior to moving to Dubai later on.
