President's Office has once again sent the names of Dr Shaheem, Usham and Dr Haidar for parliamentary approval as members of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's cabinet.
The government has submitted for parliamentary approval the names of the three cabinet members who were reappointed to their positions by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu after they were initially rejected by the parliament.
Communications Director of Parliament Hassan Ziyau confirmed on Tuesday that the President's Office has sent the names of Ahmed Usham as Attorney General, Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed as Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, and Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed as Minister of Islamic Affairs for parliamentary approval.
These three ministers were previously denied parliamentary approval on January 29, where the parliament approved 19 out of the 22 members of President Dr Muizzu's cabinet.
However, the same evening, the President reappointed the three to their previous posts, and had them take oath of office at a ceremony officiated by Supreme Court Judge HusnuSuood.
Usham as Attorney General : 24 votes in favour, 44 against
Dr Shaheem as Islamic Minister : 30 in favour, 31 against, 8 abstentions
Dr Haidar as Housing Minister : 23 in favour, 46 against
