Sony Fishing has successfully wrapped up the second edition of its "Kandu Foari" fishing race, introduced in February last year.
The tournament took place in the Male' area last Saturday and was met with enthusiasm from participants and spectators.
Captain Boat Club emerged as champions of the race, which began at 5:30am. The team received a cash prize of MVR 25,000 and a voucher worth MVR 10,000.
Nora secured the runner-up position, earning a cash prize of MVR 15,000 and a voucher worth MVR 8,000.
Shiyaz Sports Club took third place, winning MVR 10,000 in cash and a voucher worth MVR 5,000.
The award for best fisherman went to Riffath from Captain Boat Club, who received MVR 5,000 in cash and a voucher worth MVR 2,000.
Sony Fishing set a total prize pool of MVR 78,000 for this year’s Kandu Foari event.
The tournament was first held in February last year.
