In light of the positive public response to the celebratory Eid Sai hosted by Bank of Maldives (BML) on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, the company organised a similar event on 10 islands to kick-off Eid Al-Adha, on Sunday.
Held in collaboration with island councils, organisations and the aid of locals, Eid Sai was hosted on islands scattered all across the archipelago, including Vashafaru in Haa Alif Atoll, Manadhoo in Noonu Atoll, Meedhoo in Raa Atoll, Eydhafushi in Baa Atoll, Maafushi in Kaafu Atoll, Mahibadhoo in Alif Dhaalu Atoll, Kudahuvadhoo in Dhaalu Atoll, Guraidhoo in Thaa Atoll, Gaddhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll and Maradhoo in Seenu Atoll.
According to BML, the breakfast feast exhibits the deeply formed friendships of the island folk over the years, in addition to reflecting the unity and social ties of the community as a whole.
"Eid Sai held on Fitr Eid for the first time was a huge success. We believed that we achieved our objectives for organising the event, seeing locals of all ages participate in the feast, exchanging conversation. Therefore, the Eid Sai held on this Eid was also a wholesome and friendly event", said BML's Public Relations Manager Mohamed Saeed.
He further thanked the bank's employees, locals, island councils and organisations for the cooperation.
