Former Real Madrid Midfielder, Sergio Arribas, has been directed with high praise after saving a drowning tourist couple at a Maldivian resort.

During this off season, Arribas and his partner are holidaying in a resort in the Maldives.

The video circulating on social media displays Arribas relaxing in a pool with his partner when they noticed the struggling couple in the water below.

Arribas had quickly made his way to the couple on a water slide installed with the pool to assist the drowning couple, aided by his partner.

This widespread video that surfaced on social media nearly two days ago has become the talk of Spain with media outlets worldwide also reporting the news.

Arribas, aged 22 had spent 11 years with Real Madrid before switching to UD Almeria as a Midfielder last season.

He had shown outstanding performances during his time in Real Madrid's B Team and had also scored a goal during the sole match he played with the senior team in 'Club World Cup 2022'. However, he had switched to Almeria after signing a six year contract last season due to lacking opportunities within the senior team.

Almeria had scored 9 goals in the 34 matches they played last season and had also assisted 4 goals. However, the football team still remains unqualified for the La Liga league.
