First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has highlighted the need to not only focus on reciting Quran beautifully according to Tajweed rules, but also to embody its teachings in everyday life.
She made the remarks while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Eagles Community's first Quran Competition 1446, held at Thaajuddeen School.
First Lady Sajidha encouraged everyone to strive for excellence in all areas of life, guided by the values of the Quran. She noted that when individuals adopt the Quran’s principles, it positively transforms both their personal lives and society at large.
She also welcomed the increase in Quran recitation competitions across the country, describing it as a promising development.
She said that more Maldivian children and community members are finding guidance and strength in the Quran’s teachings.
Commending the Eagles Community, she praised their ongoing efforts to support social development and underscored the role of individual responsibility in improving community welfare.
The competition, which was held during Ramadan, was held for students of Thaajuddeen School. A total of 174 students took part in the recitation with text category.
During the ceremony, the First Lady awarded prizes to the students who secured first, second, and third places in the competition.
