Man arrested for entering a home and threatening with knife

A man has been arrested for threatening someone with a knife after entering an apartment in a Hiyaa flat.

Police said they received a report at around 11 pm on Monday night about a man who entered the Hiyaa flat and threatening and assaulting the people inside.

The suspect, Mohamed Lubaan Gahhaar, 26, from Maradhoo, Addu City, was arrested in connection with the case.

He was produced in court for a remand hearing, where he was ordered to remain in custody for 15 days.

Police have not provided further details on the case.
