Mohamed Mihad was appointed the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services (IAS).
Reportedly, Mihad was chosen for the position after the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) conducted an evaluation following a nomination by the President's Office.

The appointment was finalised after former IAS managing director Managing Director Mohamed Rizvi was designated the head of the recently established Regional Airports Company Ltd.
At the time of his dismissal, Rizvi had also come under criticism for, allegedly, failing to carry out his duties effectively.
Mihad previously served as the Managing Director of Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) from 2008 to 2012.
His most recent post was as a board member of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL). Mihad also filled a senior role at the Ministry of Finance.
