President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Ali Rasheed on Thursday as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The President made this appointment as per the power vested in him under Article 52 (b) of the Police Act (Act 5/2008).
Ali Rasheed was given the letter of appointment during a special ceremony held at Iskandharu Koshi.
He has served for 25 years and was filling the role of Assistant Commissioner of Police prior to his appointment.
