Janah is the first Maldivian to hold the position of Special Advisor to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
Maldivian businessman and Principal Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment, Mohamed Ali Janah, has been appointed as a Special Advisor to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
On his Facebook account, Janah expressed his honor at being appointed as the UN Tourism Special Advisor and thanked UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili for the appointment.
This is the first time a Maldivian has been appointed for this position.
Janah expressed his commitment to continue working in his position to bring about significant changes in global tourism and the country's tourism sector.
Janah's appointment was announced at the Fitoor Fair, currently taking place in Madrid, Spain. The fair, attended by leaders from various countries, is scheduled to continue until January 28.
