During a press conference held to commemorate Ooredoo's 19th anniversary, CEO Khalid Hassan Al-Hamadi stated that the company is striving to facilitate a digital transformation and introduce the latest technology to the country. He revealed that 5G services were extended to various atolls to achieve this target.
According to the CEO, international Peace Cable, which will bring forth the biggest digital transformation to Maldives has been completed and services has begun.
Through the Peace Cable, Maldives will be connected to Singapore, Europe, as well as Africa.
Ooredoo had also introduced several offers to customers to commemorate their anniversary, including;
- Supernet daily data offer: provides daily data for fibre broadband customers
- AI Postpaid Plan: allows customization of postpaid plans through Artificial Intelligence (AI) to suit individual customer needs. It is designed to provide the maximum benefits and flexibility for customers.
- Hessa Data Allowance: provides customers with a large data allowance
- Aachaa Dhandhan: This plan allows data usage to be activated from 01:00 to 05:00 hours.
In addition to these offers, Ooredoo has introduced the Ooredoo Group's Nujoom Redeem Program and launched a special page to stream various entertainment platforms, including SonyLiv and Lionsgate Play.
Moreover, Ooredoo Nation has arranged a global gaming competition set to take place from August 8 to August 9. The tournament will feature Rocket League matches between teams from Qatar and the Maldives, with a prize pool of USD 1,919.
