The Ambassador of Singapore to Maldives Chua Thian Poh, on Sunday, paid a farewell call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the President’s Office.
Chua Thian Poh has served as Singapore’s accredited ambassador to Maldives for four years.
During the meeting, the President thanked Ambassador Chua Thian Poh for services rendered throughout his ambassadorial term, emphasizing contributions made to improve bilateral ties between Maldives and Singapore.
Furthermore, President Solih requested the ambassador to convey gratitude to the Singaporean government for the hospitality extended to him, First Lady Fazna Ahmed and Maldivian delegation during July's state visit to Singapore.
The statement released by President's Office noted that Ambassador Chua's efforts aided the facilitation of numerous agreements between the two countries. Singapore also recently agreed to provide Maldives with a two-year technical assistance package regarding governance and sustainable development.
The ambassador stated that he was honoured to represent Singapore to the Maldivian government.
In response, President Solih wished the Ambassador Chua Thian Poh all the best in his future endeavours.
