Nasheed appeals for respect, urges not to mock MDP loss

Former President of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Mohamed Nasheed said on Saturday, that he does not want anyone to mock or criticize MDP for losing the presidential election.

Nasheed, who had joined The Democrats, a party formed by former MDP members, including himself, who had left the party, expressed on X that he believes it is not wise to respond with anger at this moment. As an active member within the leadership of The Democrats, Nasheed urged people not to demean MDP members.
