A woman sentenced to three days in jail for leaving an ongoing Family Court hearing without permission has been pardoned by the court.

The sentence was handed down last month after the woman walked out despite having been informed that action would be taken in such an instance. However, she later apologized to the court for her actions.

On November 26, the Family Court ruled that while its regulations do not explicitly provide for waiving a contempt of court sentence, they also do not prohibit such a decision.
