The government has handed over the task off issuing the 400 plots of land from Hulhumale phase two to Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

Minister of Housing, Dr Mohamed Muizzu stated during Thursday’s press conference that the task of distributing and accepting the form will be conducted by HDC. Furthermore, he revealed that over 5,100 forms have been submitted to the ministry and that none of these forms will become void. The Minister added that the forms will be handed over to HDC on Thursday.

According to the minister, the date of distribution and the deadline of the application will be decided by HDC. As per Housing Ministry, the deadline for submission was scheduled for the following Sunday, October 14th.

Minister Muizzu stated that he had expressed to HDC that he has no qualms with extending the deadline. Additionally, he stated that the reason behind the transfer of the task was due to the lack of space at the ministry to accommodate the influx of applicants. He apologized for any inconveniences experienced by the public.

Ministry of Housing has since stopped their distribution and no longer accepts the applications from their premises.
