Parliament has postponed the start of the third session of the 20th Parliament by a week.
Parliament was initially scheduled to hold the first sitting of the third session tomorrow, however the Parliament Secretariat has sent a message to members informing that it has been postponed to next week.
The Secretariat said that the delay is due to ongoing work to establish a video room at the parliament, which poses challenges in broadcasting sittings.
The third session of the 20th Parliament is now scheduled to begin on Monday next week, the message cited Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla as deciding.
Parliament went on recess on September 22. At the time, they had completed 82 percent of their work, as announced by the Speaker.
