A man accused of leaking private photos of another person on social media has been arrested.
He is accused of accessing these photos by hacking into a person’s phone. Mohamed Masaaid Bin Sameeu, 36, was accused of committing cyber crimes, according to the court order regarding his detention.
Masaaid received his detention notice on Thursday. He is to be kept under detention for ten days while the case is being investigated.
Masaaid had leaked the victim’ s photos onto social media through his IP address according to the Police.
They have also said Masaaid had destroyed the hard disk at his workplace. Police has confiscated a number of electronics used in his work place.
Masaaid said he was accused of a small crime and requested to release conditionally since he is in a position of responsibility. Police objects to his request though.
According to the Police, Masaaid’s records show that he has committed similar crimes in the past.
